Way back in September or October, I committed to running the Oklahoma City Memorial half marathon.
I ran a half back in 2010 -- BB ... before babies. I had more time, I had fewer commitments, I could easily take an hour or hour and a half to run 7-10 miles, and I loved it! Fast forward almost 5 years and I'm itching to get back to it.
So, my training is officially beginning next week (it's way too cold this week to attempt to run outside, and we don't have a treadmill) -- I've been running sporadically, but I'm going to have to be on the ball soon so I can step up my distances and make it to 13.1. Even if I don't run the whole thing, I know I'll be glad I got back into working out.
So, two of my goals for 2015 are to up my fitness game and be more present when I'm with the kids. All too often I feel myself wanting to check in on Instagram or Facebook or check my email. And, to be honest, all of those things can wait. My babies won't be babies forever, and I want to cherish them at all ages.
