Lane: 1 month

Lane turned 1 month on Monday, December 16. Clearly I'm very late in posting!

Our first month with Miss Lane went so much better than I expected. When Jack was born, it kind of rocked my world, but adding a second child wasn't nearly as traumatic as I thought it might be. Jack has adjusted so well, also! He's very loving and already very protective of his "little thithter" :)

Stats: At her 2 week check up, Lane weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. Her unofficial stats (we don't go back to the doctor until 1/21 for her 2 month check up) are 8 lbs. and 21 inches. She is still wearing all newborn and a few 0-3 month clothes. Even some newborn outfits look a little big on her! I changed her over to size 1 diapers -- they're also a little big, but the newborns were too small.

Sleep: Once we really got going with the Moms on Call schedule, Lane started going from 9-3 am and then would have a 3-4 hour stretch after that. So far, she's a good napper and is even able to nap on-the-go some. We moved her to her crib around 3 weeks. I was nervous about the move because in our room, she was sleeping in the Boppy in the family crib we have. But, the move was, again, less traumatic than I anticipated. Her current schedule is bottles at (anywhere between) 6:30-7:30 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm and a "dream feed" at 9 pm.

Eating: Since day one, Lane has been a really good eater. She never lost a ton of weight after leaving the hospital and she had already packed on the weight once we got to her 2 week check up. She's taking 3-4 ounces, and will usually drain a 4 oz. bottle during the day. She's really done well with the eat/play/sleep routine also.

Playtime: After her bottle, Lane is up for another 30-45 minutes and then goes down for about a 2 hour nap. She likes her playmat, but isn't so much into tummy time. She rarely tries to lift her head (but will when on your shoulder for a burp). Jack loves to lay down next to Lane on the playmat to join in on playtime.

Milestones: The day before her 1 month birthday, Lane gave us tons of smiles! What a welcome interaction after weeks of grunts and sweet baby noises.
